A real cool design working prototype of an electronic reader based on a flexible e-paper, that rolls up like a scroll. The prototype’s 5-inch screen that runs at 320 by 240 pixels.
Polymer Vision’s cool design e-gadget Readius looks like it is primarily designed to be a monochromatic e-book reader, but it has lots of other features such as e-mail, news, RSS feeds, and so on. The 5-inch rollable screen also has 4GB of memory, and you can use for storing tunes as well.
You get the large display of e-reading, the super battery life of e-reading, and the high-end connectivity … and the form factor and weight of a mobile phone,” said Karl McGoldrick, chief executive of the venture capital-funded firm, in which Philips still has a 25 percent stake.
Like Amazon’s Kindle, the cool design gadget Readius has a so-called electronic paper screen, which displays black-and-white text and images that look almost like they have been printed on paper.
